The Elizabeth Lee Project

Elizabeth Lee
My name is Elizabeth Adrienne Lee. I have decided to write a book entitled: "The Elizabeth Lee Project." This book is an autobiography that depicts my life when I was a child growing up. I wrote this book with the intention of it being a self-help book. I want to help other victims of domestic abuse. I am also promoting depression awareness. When I was in college I found out that millions of people in this world are suffering the exact same way I did. So I decided to take my outrage & anger & take action to put a stop to child abuse. I'm going to tell you a little bit more about me. I was born in Kempatty Sempatty Tamil Nadu India on September 10, 1982. My mother died of tuberculosis & my father joined the service (I don't know that for sure. That's just what I was told). I was adopted along with another girl that people claimed was my biological sister. But after what she did to me I refuse to call her my "sister." This girl was part of the abuse when I was growing up. She would conjure up ways to get me into trouble because she knew that when I got into trouble, Sam & Jerome Krenz would yell at me & beat me. She was also the one who told me I deserved to be abused. Now would a good sister tell you that you deserved to be abused? I don't think so. I have brown skin, brown eyes, black hair, I stand about 5'4 ½" tall, & I weigh about 175 pounds. I received many health problems as a result of all of this abuse. I was terribly malnourished, then I was lactose intolerant, I had Ovarian Failure, & I had "Severe Depression." I was always drastically underweight. When I was twenty years old I only weighed ninety pounds & I was stuck at the height of 4'11" most of my life. I guess that's what happens when you ignore your body for twenty years. I'm not saying that I'm ignorant. I was so preoccupied with all the verbal & physical abuse I was receiving from Sam & Jerome that I didn't have a chance to think about anything else. I feel that many people can relate to what I've been through because I know there are others who were abused like I was. I know what other domestic abuse victims are going through. I'm trying to reach out & send the message that people who are experiencing problems with domestic abuse are not alone & I'm here to help in any way I can. I plan to start up "The Elizabeth Lee Foundation." I plan to provide counseling for people. My counseling will be free of charge. All the people are the reason that I'm alive, happy, healthy, & doing well today. This is my way of giving back to the community. This is my way of saying: "Thank you" to people for helping me. I survived my past & I lived to tell about it. Not too many people can say that. If you only knew the things these people did to me, you would ask me: "How the hell are you still alive?" But when I found out that the third leading cause of death in teenagers & adolescents is suicide, I knew I had to step forward & put a stop to this nonsense right away. I would like to see the suicide rate to drop down at least somewhat. I would like to go on television on talk shows & channels that broadcast the news because this suicide thing is a serious issue that we should not ignore. My ordeal is depressing & horrible, but the reason I'm stepping forward is because I want to help people so that people are happy, healthy, safe, but most of all alive. So I'm sending a positive message. I want to conclude by saying this: despite what I've endured I am leading a healthy & productive life. My book is getting published. I'm living in my very own apartment under the name I've wanted my entire life. I finally got my PT Cruiser!! I've wanted those cars ever since they came out with them. I have no health problems & I'm doing what I can so that I can live a long & fulfilling life.
