Investigating the murder of a woman found in the Baka neighborhood of Jerusalem, Chief Superintendent Michael Ohayon finds the case complicated by tensions between local Jewish and Arab residents.

Israeli policeman Michael Ohayon must once again solve a murder that has taken place within a complex, closed society: the kibbutz. Told repeatedly that "one who hasn't lived on a kibbutz can't possibly understand life there," Ohayon becomes increasingly determined to penetrate the spirit of this world

Inspector Michael Ohayon of the Jerusalem police must deal with profound ethical questions when he investigates the murder of a celebrated poet and professor of literature at the Hebrew University.

When a woman's body is discovered in the wardrobe warehouses of Israel Television, brooding police superintendent Ohayon embarks on a tangled and bloody trail of detection through the corridors and studios of Israel's official television station and, especially, through the relations, fears, loves, and courage of the people who make the station what it is. It is a journey that brings into question the very ideals upon which Ohayon--and indeed the entire nation--was raised, ideals that may have led to terrible crimes.--From publisher description.
