Baby: it's cold inside
A collection of funny, ironic essays from one of the great humorists of the twentieth century. Culled from the pages of The New Yorker, Holiday, TV Guide and Venture, these 32 stories span all of Perelman's 1960s work and is his only anthology from the latter half of that decade.
Quartet: &, Equally divided
Equally Divided begins shortly after the funeral of Edith and Renata's mother. Edith, severe, embattled, unmarried, has sacrificed her life to nurse the beridden old woman. Renata, glamorous and married several times, has spent her life doing what she pleases. When the contents of the will are made known, childhood rivalries re-emerge and the result is a moral tale both powerful and comic.
On the Way to Willowdale
âeoeOn the Way to Willowdale: Being Other Songs From a Georgia Garden, With Sonnet Interludesâe is a collection of poems by Robert Loveman, showcasing his lyrical style and deep appreciation for nature. Loveman, often compared to Robert Browning, infuses his work with vivid imagery and emotional depth. This collection presents a diverse range of subjects, from the delicate beauty of 'Morning Glories' and 'Sally Dahlia' to the dramatic intensity of a comet and tempest. Loveman's romantic sensibilities shine through in poems addressing themes of love and loss, such as 'slain my love, ' 'Mary Marigold, ' and 'Juliet.' The included sonnet interludes offer moments of introspective beauty, capturing fleeting moments of 'rapture' and 'ecstasy.' With its evocative language and timeless themes, "On the Way to Willowdale" remains a testament to Loveman's contribution to American poetry, inviting readers to revel in the 'SKIES AND BUTTERFLIES' and the 'toy of joy' found within the Georgia landscape. Inextricably bonded: Israeli Arab and Jewish writers re-visioning culture
Despite the tragic reality of the continuing Israeli-Arab conflict, this book affirms the bonds between the two communities, showing that the literatures of both ethnic groups defy obstructive ideologies. Rachel Brenner argues that literary critics have ignored the variety and dissent in the novels of both Arab and Jewish writers in Israel, giving them interpretations that conform with Zionist ideology. She offers insightful new readings that compare fiction by Jewish writers Amos Oz, A. B. Yehoshua, David Grossman, and others with fiction written in Hebrew by such Arab-Israeli writers as Atallah Mansour, Emile Habiby, and Anton Shammas. She highlights the moral and psychological dilemmas faced by both Jews and Arabs and suggests that the hope for release from the historical trauma lies in reaching an understanding with and of the adversary.

Plagiarism in early modern England
What Is plagiarism? How was it understood and judged in early modern England? This interdisciplinary study sets out at once to theorize and historicise plagiarism. The first part launches a vigorous debate about the ethical, philosophical, artistic, and legal implications of plagiarism. Individual essays in part two provide historical case studies. Variously centred on translations of the Bible, historiography, drama, poetry, dance treatises, sermons, and colonial grammars, the essays show how a nexus of concepts developed between the Renaissance and the early nineteenth century - plagiarism, imitation, forgery, copyright, and intellectual property - and how they have been defined and contested. --

Questions/Places/Voices/Seasons
Poetry. QUESTIONS/PLACES/VOICES/SEASONS continues and expands the innovative meditational poetry Norman Fischer has explored in earlier books, such as SLOWLY BUT DEARLY, SUCCESS, and I WAS BLOWN BACK. The two long serial poems that anchor QUESTIONS/PLACES/VOICES/SEASONS, "Charlotte's Way" and "Seasons," will feel quite familiar to Fischer's many readers. But he also inaugurates a new form of writing in this new book in which he inhabits the voices of others, such as Alberto Caeiro, Reb Yosl of Kemenetz, Elena Rivera, and Saigyo Hoshi. The combination of these distinct forms of writing create a compelling new addition to Fischer's already impressive body of work.
