Agent Alexei Soloviev discovers Adolf Hitler's secret will in the KGB's underground archives. Thirty years later... Intelligence Services Analyst, Melany Carson, infiltrates a group of white supremacists in Pennsylvania following a series of disturbances in Islamic circles that are connected to neo-Nazi organizations. A discovery as terrifying as it is shocking forces Melany and her new companion, Jeff Cartright, a young millionaire, into danger as they search for the only person who knows what Hitler's last diabolical plan was. If they don't find Alexei, any hope of preventing disaster will be lost. From Washington to Pennsylvania and Boston to Moscow through the suffocating jungles of Sumatra and beyond, THE THIRD TESTAMENT takes readers on a breathtaking adventure that blurs the line between fiction and reality and raises questions about the potential reincarnation of the Third Reich. ***********************************************************************************************************************************************Pierre Rehov's The Third Testament: A shocking and terrifying discovery that could change the course of history is a thriller in every sense of the word. It's a fast-paced, briskly plotted, twist-laden adventure spanning from rural Pennsylvania to Moscow to Indonesia, and imagining a scenario for international bloodshed and terror that sheds light on some commonly ignored but crucially important truths about the contemporary world. (Robert Spencer - PJ Media) Beyond its thriller dimension, which makes it a real "page-turner", a book that you can't let go once opened, "The Third Testament" evokes this natural union between Nazism and Islamism around a breathtaking chase against a background of current events and historical facts. The construction of the book is of a very high level, the reading particularly limpid and rhythmic. Drop everything and hurry to acquire it. This novel is incredible, way beyond Dan Brown's "Da Vinci Code" (Pamela Geller's report) Pierre Rehov's latest novel, "The Third Testament" is a well-written, fast reading voyage into an exciting and frightening world of violence and intrigue. While traveling throughout the US, Russia and Sumatra searching for answers to questions that Agent Alexei Soloview discovered in Hitler's Will thirty years earlier, Intelligence Services Analyst Melany Carson and her friend Jeff find themselves in terrifying life threatening situations. The answers to the questions, was there a will, and if so, what was prophesied and is that prophesy becoming a reality today must be left to the reader. I recommend the book, it's a great read. (Judith Nusbaum - Jpost) Pierre Rehov brings the knowledge and excitement of his exceptional documentaries on terrorism, combined with the experience from his bestselling European novels to bring the reader on a thrilling journey. You will NOT be able to put it down! One thing I can say for sure: I wait with bated breath for the movie! (Audrey Russo-Real Talk With Audrey Russo)

The royal ghost

Stratmann, Linda
A Victorian mystery with a haunting twist! Perfect for fans of Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie and Antonia Hodgson... A scandalous rumour is sweeping through Brighton. But is everything really as it seems...? Brighton, 1871 Forty-one years after his death, King George IV is said to be haunting the Royal Pavilion . The story of the ghostly encounter has been published anonymously, and it is sweeping through the town. Mina Scarletti , an author herself, immediately suspects the story to be false. And when she inspects the Pavilion, she is certain her suspicions are correct . But as she prepares to expose the false claims, her past begins to catch up with her. Blackmailed and threatened by those with an ulterior motive, Mina finds herself caught in a trap . Can Mina prove that the Royal Ghost is a fake? Will she escape from the threat hanging over her? Or will she find herself in grave danger...? THE ROYAL GHOST is the second cosy mystery in Linda Stratmann's intriguing historical series, the Mina Scarletti investigations, a traditional British detective series with a feisty woman sleuth set in Victorian Brighton. 'I found this tale totally different from the usual Victorian melodramas , as it was firmly based on fact and the beliefs of the time. The pace is good , the characters believable and the style of writing suits the time in which it is set without going over the top. I enjoyed it very much .' - Historical Novel Society 'This beautifully written mystery tale could be glibly summed up as Jane Austen meets a female Perry Mason. The historical background is evocative and brings middle class Victorian Brighton, with all its gullibility, gossip, backbiting, social climbing and pretensions, to life, often with a wry sense of humour . Mina is a more than believable protagonist, pragmatic and resourceful and while realising her limitations, determined not to let her disability stop her doing things she wants to. The supporting characters are also well-rounded and contribute effectively to the whole.' - John Cleal, Crime Review ' The Royal Ghost benefits from a nicely evoked setting in Victorian Brighton, and casts entertaining light on an era when ghosts and psychic phenomena were all the rage.' - Martin Edwards 'If you enjoy the Frances Doughty mysteries then you'll find this book right down your street.' - Crime Fiction Lover THE MINA SCARLETTI MYSTERY SERIES: BOOK ONE: Mr Scarletti's Ghost BOOK TWO: The Royal Ghost BOOK THREE: An Unquiet Ghost BOOK FOUR: The Ghost of Hollow House BOOK FIVE: His Father's Ghost BOOK SIX: The Cyanide Ghost

Mika Rottenberg

Rottenberg, Mika
"The ersatz factories and farms that appear in the videos and installations of Mika Rottenberg (born 1976) are tended by female laborers with unusual features. Uncommonly fat, tall, muscular or long-haired women work on strange, alchemical assembly lines to turn red fingernails into maraschino cherries, or to squeeze together blush, lettuce and rubber into a curious and magical product. Published on the occasion of Rottenberg's retrospective exhibition at de Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, this first publication on the acclaimed young artist presents a comprehensive overview of her work to date. It includes extensive sections on all of Rottenberg's major video installations, culminating with “Squeeze” (2010). Video stills, diagrams, drawings and previously unpublished source material are interwoven with essays investigating the work from political, philosophical and historical perspectives. Interviews conducted by the artist with some of the performers whose extreme physiques she showcases in her videos provide unique insight into Rottenberg's process of blending fact and fiction to create her highly original work." --publisher's description

The adventures of Sid Sawyer

Catherine Hiller
Most of the characters that perform in this book still live, and are prosperous and happy. Some day it may seem worth while to take up the story of the younger ones again. - Mark Twain, 1876 Catherine Hiller has taken up Twain's challenge. Her latest novel, The Adventures of Sid Sawyer, turns The Adventures of Tom Sawyer upside down. Told from the point of view of Tom's supposedly sissy half-brother Sid, we get a fresh and original take on this beloved classic. Inspired by both Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, Hiller has cleverly woven some of the original text into a brand new adventure. This beautifully crafted and well-paced tale, a complete story in its own right, is told through Sid's eyes and brings a whole new twist to all the characters, shedding a rather different light on Tom, Mary, Aunt Polly and needless to say, Sid. The Adventures of Sid Sawyer will appeal to nostalgic adults and readers over 16 and features a series of 9 specially commissioned line drawings by artist and illustrator Ana Stankovic-Fitzgerald. REVIEWS from the eBook launch: April 2012: Sid Sawyer, brother of the more famous Tom, is a complex character. This coming-of-age tale is true to the spirit of Twain's books, but aimed at a slightly older audience. Catherine Hiller deals bluntly with issues of sex and racism, and portrays a darker view of human nature. Sid learns some tough life lessons, but ultimately love and loyalty prevail. An interesting read for anyone who enjoyed the original books. Jane Bailey Bain, author of 'Lifeworks' 'Most of the characters that perform in this book still live and are prosperous and happy' says Mark Twain in the foreword of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. 'Some day it may seem worth while to take up the story of the younger ones again.' This is precisely what writer Catherine Hiller has done in The Adventures of Sid Sawyer. With graceful and witty style, she has continued Twain's story. This book explores life from the eyes of Tom's younger half-brother Sid - a thin, reflective, inquisitive boy with a tendency to be a right tattletale. The story follows Sid as he sets out to find out about the father he never knew. Along his journey he experiences love, saves a life, learns about himself and starts to grow up. Hiller's writing is crisp and her observations astute. The characters' voices are distinct and real. This book is touching and nostalgic without being sentimental. Colette Brenda, producer It was such a pleasure to revisit Tom and Huck whom I felt I grew up with several times over, on several readings. Following on from Twain, Hiller explores a new dimension with Sid Sawyer being the observer and narrator. The characters are developed thoroughly and much to my liking. I'm glad I caught this one - thanks! Jordan, customer review, Armadillo Central website.

Sardines and the Angel

Bettina Ehrlich
A delightful story about ice cream and the importance of always telling the truth. Miss Patricia Higgins's painting holiday in Italy isn't going according to plan. She'd hoped to paint many outdoor scenes in the picturesque fishing village but as soon as her easel is set up, the local children gather around asking her to paint their portraits. Hoping to avoid the crowds, Miss Higgins goes out very early one morning. This time she encounters only one child, Arturo 'Sardines' Camuffo, who says, rather surprisingly, that he doesn't want a portrait of himself. He'd rather Miss Higgins painted a picture of his friend, the bronze angel sitting atop the church spire. How does the son of a poor local fisherman become friends with a huge statue of an angel? For the price of three ice cream cones, Miss Higgins is about to find out. First published by Oxford University Press in 1967, Sardines and the Angel is the third in a series of vintage illustrated Bettina Ehrlich children's books, proudly reproduced by For Pity Sake Publishing. This book is preceded by Francesco and Francesca (2018) and The Goat Boy (2019).

The Twelfth Hour

Ada Leverson
The Twelfth Hour (1907) is a novel by Ada Leverson. Having established herself as a journalist and short story writer, Leverson published her debut novel to moderate acclaim. Entertaining and effortlessly witty, Leverson's prose paints a stunning portrait of the Edwardian era, a time when hope and relative peace proved prosperous for many. Often compared to her close friend Oscar Wilde, Leverson, a pioneering Jewish woman, remains a unique and refreshing voice in English literature. Felicity, Sylvia, and Savile Crofton all feel the pressure placed on upper-class youths to marry wisely. At 25, Felicity appears to have found herself a good husband, a man of wealth and social standing who on closer appearance seems more interested in leisure than love. Determined not to fall into a similarly unhappy marriage, her 20-year-old sister Sylvia hopes to thwart her father's wish that she marry millionaire Mr. Ridokanski. Although he is only 16, Eton student Savile is deeply in love with a famous opera singer--from a distance--but also feels obliged to entertain the affections of Dolly Clive, a girl his own age. Finding company in their own unique miseries of the heart, the Crofton siblings hatch a plan to achieve happiness for themselves, satisfaction for their father, and whatever it is young people are meant to owe to society. The Twelfth Hour is a humorous tale of romance and desire from Ada Leverson, an underappreciated novelist of the Edwardian era. This edition of Ada Leverson's The Twelfth Hour is a classic work of British literature reimagined for modern readers. Bird of Paradise

Ada Leverson
In London, before the First World War, where in society love and money predominate, Bertha and Nigel had been inseparable. But then Nigel felt he had to focus on the economics of life, and after all Bertha's family were quite modestly off. Whereas the heiress Mary, also interested in him but not anywhere near so charming, was very well set up. His decision was made. Though initially heartbroken, Bertha realises quickly that she has escaped from a delusion. Equanimity returns, and she finds in Percy Kellynch a devoted lover, though one a little more sober and less racy. They marry, as do Nigel and Mary, and over time the two become friends again, though now with wise awareness on Bertha's side. Nigel begins to see his error, as Mary's jealousy and her wish to supervise his life take their toll. He finds comfort in simply seeing Bertha initially, but inevitably begins to wish for more. Bertha is not interested, having moved on, but, if noticed, Nigel's attentions could be misconstrued... In the meantime, Bertha is also looking out for the future of a young friend, Madeline Irwin, who is smitten with Rupert Denison, a young man with rather too much of a penchant for patronising and "educating" young women. Madeline is impulsive, a little inexperienced and quite needy. Her headlong qualities precipitate problems very readily. As Bertha negotiates several crises arising from Nigel's reviving attachment, she also tries to assist Madeline in avoiding her own self-created disasters. Much depends on Bertha's talent for good management and wise counsel in the perils of both their lives. She is determined to win over adversity, but it will be a strong test of her skills.... Bird of Paradise, Leverson's fifth novel, as radiant with wit and wisdom as those which preceded it, was first published in 1914.

Encounters An Anthology From the First Ten Years of Encounter Magazine (Classic Reprint)

Stephen Spender
Excerpt from Encounters: An Anthology From the First Ten Years of Encounter Magazine Finally, if I were to attempt to express what it is we have been about m a few words, I would put it this way: a review is a way of looking at the world, a record of glimpses and perspectives, concerned with the colour of things and not only with their meaning, with the visible surface Of life as well as its hidden patterns. A review is also a way of talking with the world, and, if worth listening to at all, alive with a sense of conversation, a feeling for the continuous dialogue which alone, in our days of agitated pictures and violent excitements, can sustain an imaginative interest in words and texts.
